Bakun dam unsafe? Temporary Sarawak Report mirror site

Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear friends,

the cyberwar against Malaysia's independent online media has continued today for the fourth day. According to Sarawak Report editor Clare Brown, these are unprecedented, very professional and expensive denial of service attacks causing massive problems to the providers of Sarawak Report, Malaysiakini and other websites.

The Bruno Manser Fund condemns this obvious attempt by the ruling Malaysian Barisan Nasional coalition to silence critical voices ahead of Saturday's state election in Sarawak.

Please find attached the latest explosive story on the infamous Bakun dam, Sarawak Chief Minister Taib Mahmud's favourite project that has caused suffering to thousands of displaced natives and is likely to never become profitable. While Transparency International has labelled the Bakun dam a "monument of corruption", Sarawak Report is now disclosing worrying news on the safety of the dam construction. You will find the story attached. To view the embedded video, please access Sarawak Report's temporary website:

With kind regards,
Your BMF team
