Why UMNO/BN is bad for the country

Yes, why I believe UMNO/BN is bad for Malaysia. Reasons can easily be seen if you are unbiased. The main reason is UMNO/BN practices patronage and money politics.

Why is patronage bad for Malaysia? Because get voted into positions wielding power in their political power, they need to buy support from warlords, division heads. And division heads in turn need to buy support from division members. Not only that, while the opposition volunteers generally work for free, UMNO/BN volunteers needs money in cash or kind to work, etc.

And because of this need for money to buy support, there is tendency to get money unethically. So there you have it all.

Brief introduction to Mr. Lau Weng San

Lau Weng San is a likely candidate for the state seat of KAMPUNG TUNKU in the Parliamentary Constituent, PJ Utara (Petaling Jaya Utara).

The current assemblyman (ADUN) for the state seat of KAMPUNG TUNKU is Wong Sai Hou who has demonstrated that he did not act in interest of the Petaling Jaya residents as illustrated by the illegal bill board and requirements for advertisers to pay money to the then Petaling Jaya Town Council (MPPJ or Majlis Perbandaran Petaling Jaya) as council member.

Mr. Lau Weng San is the Parliamentary Secretary to Y.B. Lim Kit Siang, the Opposition leader, very likely not drawing a high salary which he might get had he opted to remain in his field of specialization, which is Chemical Engineering. If Mr. Lau wants to become rich, he could have chosen either to pursue a more lucrative career as a Chemical Engineer or join the Barisan. But he joined DAP instead, which is not going to make him rich. Obviously Mr. Lau Weng San will be hard pressed to finance his own service center, but I think he is using the DAP headquarter as his service center.

Update: Lau Weng San service center is near the New Seaview Restaurant in Paramount Garden. Directly opposite the restaurant are terrace houses with a side road in between. Go along this side lane to the road behind the terrace houses and the service center is a short distance to the left.

Tony Pua is an Oxford graduate who succeeded to list an IT company in the Singapore Stock Exchange and came back to Malaysia to get involved in politics, I assume, to effect positive changes to Malaysia, same objective as this group. I assume, if Tony's objective is to get rich, he would have been better off staying put in Singapore or join the Barisan, not DAP. One cannot get rich by joining DAP, one only get headaches. Tony Pua is the likely candidate for the Parliamentary seat of PJ Utara (Petaling Jaya Utara).
