He wrote of the Malay culture and how Malays I know are polite to a fault. The Malays I remember have manners and grace. and I fully agree with him. I had taught Malay students for well over 3 decades and I know Malays are very hospitable and generous.
Plus, since I retired I had volunteered to teach English to disadvantaged children and was assigned to teach young Malay boys and girls. Just yesterday I was very surprised when 2 very young girls took my hands and kissed it, I assumed for teaching them English. They must have been taught by their parents to express gratitude.
That is another matter. What I wanted to write about today is not my experience but what Hussein Hamid wrote:

So here it is:
Selamat Pagi Malaysia...I have partaken of my first sip of tea this morning...not Nescafe but tea this morning. Mango infused mandarin flavoured tea because this morning I do not need a coffee to put me in the right frame of mind to write. I know what I want to write about this morning. I want to write about the Malays. Not the Bugis, not the Jawas, not the Northern or Southern Malays....not even about the people from the East Coast or West Coast.
I do not want to talk about the Malay race, not about the Malay nation or about the fact that the Malays dominate politics in Malaysia. I want to write about what all those people I have just mentioned have become....we have all become Malays. An ethnic group that I know have got respect for others and in return beget respect from others. The Malays I know are polite to a fault. The Malays I remember have manners and grace that made them the envy of others. And that is why in all my life I have always been proud to identify myself not as a Bugis but always as a Malay.
My parents, my uncles and aunties and, dare I say it, myself and my cousins, are the product of Malay parents who instinctively knew what is important in life. When we meet our elders...we give them respect. When we talk to our elders...we defer to what they have to say, listen and learn...and when asked, only when asked,we answer. We wait for our elders to eat before we do...and they in turn, insists that we eat before they do. I do not sit if my father was standing and if I sit, never will I sit higher then him. And always when we meet our elders...we kiss their hand reverently with love and respect and even as we do, they will pull back their hands and smile as they ask how our parents were, how we are and if all is well with us. I know all this because I lived that life for as long as I can remember until my parents, all these uncles and aunties are no more...save for a few of them who are revered by us as the last of the Mohicans.
If you are tired of listening to what I am saying about my past life...bear with me a little more. The life that I led as I grew up was no different to the life of many many other Malays that I know. In the kampongs and in the growing middle class of Malays in the urban areas ...respect for the leaders, being a good individual and being content with our lot was what guided us in our lives. That life is now a distant memory.

Really? Japan has more FDI than China?
Najib Abdul Razak has been reported by Malaysiakini to ask why China FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) is a big issue when Japan's FDI is bigger than China's FDI.\https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/409655
Really? Japan's FDI is greater than China's FDI? I don't have direct information but I do clearly remember that China's FDI are not really Foreign Direct Investments but loans from China. And not only loans, it had been reported that these so called FDI are loans for unsustainable projects such as the ECRL (East Coast Rail Link) which is financed by China but creating huge debts for Malaysia, and it is reported that Malaysia will have problems servicing the loan from only the earnings from the ECRL.

Najib say will not let nation down? He already has
Malaysia's worst Prime Minister Najib Razak proclaimed in his "Merdeka" speech that he will not let the nation down. How is that even possible? He already has let Malaysia down by his bad governance of the nation. He has spouted great flowery speeches but did the opposite of what he claims he want to do. He promised transparency but delivered the opposite. He promised to fight corruption but .... you can complete the rest yourself.

And, judging by the developments last night, Muhyiddin has agreed to these terms and conditions. And that signal of his agreement was when Muhyiddin fired his first shot at Najib. So, over the next week or so, we should be seeing Dr Mahathir remove the suspense by openly endorsing Muhyiddin as Najib’s successor.

It was not a matter of if but more a matter of when Muhyiddin would start shooting. If Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin wants to take over as Prime Minister when Najib Tun Razak is ousted — if he is successfully ousted, that is — then he has to earn that job. It is not going to be served to him on a silver platter.
That was basically the same term and condition that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad gave both Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah and Najib when the Grand Old Man of Malaysian politics made his move to oust Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi nine years ago.
Dr Mahathir wanted Najib to make his move on Abdullah and openly challenge the Prime Minister. But Najib would not. Instead, Najib openly pledged his support for the Prime Minister and this pissed Dr Mahathir off big time.
Since Najib would not earn the job by taking on Abdullah, then he was not going to become Prime Minister. Dr Mahathir was not going to serve Najib the post of Prime Minister on a silver platter. Najib must work for it if he wanted that job.
So Dr Mahathir decided to by-pass Najib and talk to Tengku Razaleigh instead. But there was just too much history between Dr Mahathir and Tengku Razaleigh that it was not easy to wash away all that bad blood. Hence Tengku Razaleigh, too, would have to earn that job.
And the way Tengku Razaleigh would have to earn the job of Prime Minister would be he would have to agree to the setting up of a presidential council that would ‘guide’ him on how the country would be run.
Tengku Razaleigh saw this as a move to make him a proxy prime minister with a de facto prime minister that would pull all the strings behind the scenes. In short, he would be a nominee or puppet of Dr Mahathir. So he said no. If he were to become the prime minister then he would call the shots and decide what to do. No one was going to make him a puppet prime minister.
With Tengku Razaleigh’s rejection, Dr Mahathir dumped him and went back to Najib. But Najib would have to agree to proceed with the Crooked Bridge to Singapore plus a few other terms and conditions that involved his son, Mukhriz, and Proton — making sure the government continues to support the ailing national car and not allow it to die.
But Najib did not do what Dr Mahathir made him promise to do. And, to add insult to injury, Najib went and appointed Khairy Jamaluddin a cabinet minister — instead of killing off his political career — thus putting an obstacle in Mukhriz’s way.
So, while everyone knows that Dr Mahathir wants Najib ousted — that is not a secret because Dr Mahathir has openly said so — he did not make it clear who is going to be the one who is going to take over as prime minister. He left the matter of the successor in suspense.
It could be Muhyiddin or it could be someone else. However, if Muhyiddin wants the job, then he has to earn it. It is not going to be given to him free-of-charge. “It’s not for those people,” said Nazir, who is CIMB Group chairman and brother of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, referring to The Edge.
“What am I standing for? Freedom of opinion, freedom of expression, that is all,” he told reporters after attending an Aidilfitri open house organised by former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s brother, Nazir, supports freedom of opinion and freedom of expression. He has criticised the three-month suspension of The Edge, not so much because he agrees with what that newspaper wrote but more to defend its right to say what they said.
“I do not agree with what you have to say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it,” said Voltaire, the 17th-18th century French Enlightenment writer, historian, and philosopher who was famous for his attacks on the established Catholic Church, and his advocacy of freedom of religion, freedom of expression, and separation of church and state.
I would say, “Je suis Nazir.” It is time that Malaysians understood and accept the meaning of freedom of opinion and freedom of expression. In a civil society there should no longer be any sacred cows that are out of bounds from comment and criticism. We should be free to express our thoughts and views.
I find that Malays are not the only community that takes offense with views that run contra to their beliefs. Chinese, Indians and all the others are just the same. If you say something that contradicts their belief they would take it as a challenge and an insult. You are free to express your view as long as it is not seen as challenging their view.
Whenever I give my view on Christianity the Christians would accuse me of insulting Christianity and would demand to know why am I attacking their religion. Just like the Malays, any view that contradicts their own would be seen as an insult and an attack. And any contradicting view on Islam may even attract a violent and physical response in some countries.
I consider Christianity a lie and I have said so many times. And Christians do not like me saying this. I have explained in the past why I think Christianity is a lie so no need for me to repeat it here. Suffice to say that there is no historical evidence that Jesus existed other than the so-called ‘evidence’ in the Gospels, and even then only in the New Testament.
There were scores of historians around that period who reported all sorts of events of that time but none reported the story of Jesus. And considering, according to the Bible, it was definitely an earth-shattering event, then surely at least one historian would have reported what can be considered a very important event in those days.
However, none of the famous historians mention Jesus although they mention so many other even lesser events of the day. And even those one or two historians who were alleged to have made a passing remark about Jesus have been debunked as fakes and forgeries.
So, if you go by historical records outside the Gospels, Jesus did not exist. And if Jesus did not exist then the Bible and Christianity could not exist as well. Christianity was a fabrication over hundreds of years, created as a political tool and a means to control the population. It did not come from God.
Freedom of opinion and expression means you must be allowed to say this without being threatened or accused of insulting Christianity or of attacking religion. Disagreeing is the very essence of freedom of opinion and expression. And if you have grounds for having the opposite view then you must be allowed to express them.
This principle does not only apply to Christianity. It applies to all religions, Islam included. Did the Qur’an really come from God or Allah? Was the Qur’an even Arabic in the first place or was it written in some other language that was ‘Arabised’ over the centuries?
Is the inscription in the Dome of the Rock really ‘Islamic’ or does it actually refer to Jesus? A reinterpretation of the inscription could point to Jesus rather than Muhammad because muhammad with a small ‘m’ would mean Jesus. Read that inscription again with muhammad as an adjective rather than a proper noun and see what you get.
These are views that some people hold. And these views suggest that not only Christianity does not exist but Islam does not as well. But because Islam and Muhammad are sacred cows that attract a violent and physical response, people do not want to bother talking about their views.
However, if we want a society where freedom of opinion and expression are paramount, then it has to be no holds barred. The principle should be, “I do not agree with what you have to say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it.”

Malaysiakini free: Why hasn't tax dept raided Seri Perdana?
Wow lots of things happening in Malaysia, bad things as well as good things. Let's focus on the good things. Today Malaysiakini, a subscription based online news website, has realeased lots of their password content as free to read articles.
And one of them is Dr. Mahathir asking why when the tax department has not investigated the current Malaysia Prime Minister Najib Razak when so much conspicuous lavish spending by Najib, Rosmah, Rosmah's son Riza Aziz, etc. has been reported.

Malaysiakini free: Najib's 'ask why' goes awry
Here is another ethical opportunity to read the subscription based Malaysiakini without being a subscriber. Malaysiakini has published another free to read for all article: Najib's 'ask why' goes awry.
In the article, Najib was reported as telling the students "....education is not just about learning specific facts and figures. It is about thinking widely around a subject, and questioning. "Asking: 'why?' Being able to see both sides of an argument. Allowing your minds to open and develop, and for learning to be a voyage of discovery," but was then bombarded by the students turning the table on him with quotes like:
"When we, the young generation ask why, you slapped us with sedition law. Walk the talk, don't la walk then hide. Still support AI (Anwar Ibrahim)."
"That's what we are asking. Why money missing in 1mdb? Why misuse GLC to bailout 1MDB? Why practice racist politics? Why the Malaysian ringgit going down so much? Why cost of living went up drastically? Why government debts piles up?"

Aidana Baizieva, Semanyih helicopter crash, missing link
Since the unfortunate helicopter crash at Semenyih that resulted in the untimely death of the late Rompin MP Jamaluddin Jarjis and 5 others, many had been wondering who the late Aidana Baizieva was.
Till now that is. The late Aidan Baizieva was a Kazakhstan citizen as confirmed by Kyrgyzstan embassy and her remains were claimed by mystery woman who arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital mortuary with a Toyota Vios with a man believed to be a representative from the Kazakhstan embassy (source: The Malaysian Insider).
As the helicopter were carrying 6 passengers and pilot from Najib's daughter and son-in-law reception in Pekan, could Aidana Baizieva be also related to Najib's new son-in-law Daniyar Nazarbayev? (source: Free Malaysia Today: Najib’s future son-in-law a ‘conman’?).
Update 4.15pm 6 April 2015: The Malaysian Insider says identity of last victim Aidana Baizieva yet to be confirmed.

For a company that allegedly received at least 36 million euro (RM144 million) from an offshoot of the French defense company DCN, Terasasi (Hong Kong) Ltd is a mysterious company indeed.
It is one of at least 142 names listed on the directory on the 19th floor of a skyscraper at 3 Lockhart Road in Hong Kong's Wan Chai district.
The 19th floor's main tenant is a company called Union Alpha, the Hong Kong arm of an accounting firm that provides "professional services to meet clients' daily business needs, both in Hong Kong, Greater China and globally," including auditing and assurance services, management consulting, accountancy and other services, according to the firm's website.
There is no indication of what Terasasi's business is. It is only listed in the Hong Kong Companies Registry as a "local company".
Asked about the nature of Terasasi's operations, Monique KL Chan, a senior officer at Union Alpha, told Asia Sentinel that "we cannot discuss confidential matters of our clients."
She referred Asia Sentinel to her boss, whom she said was in a meeting. He did not immediately answer a request for a phone call.
The two directors of Terasasi Hong Kong, which was first incorporated in Malaysia, are listed in the Hong Kong Companies Registry as Abdul Razak Baginda, formerly one of Najib's closest friends, and Razak Baginda's father, Abdul Malim Baginda.
There is no indication, for instance, who Terasasi's bankers might be, but they might be beginning to take notice.
That is because Hong Kong's money-laundering law makes it an offence for bankers, lawyers or accountants to deal with property they know or have reasonable grounds to believe represents the proceeds serious crimes.
Offenders are subject to a maximum of 14 years in prison. Records must be kept on any transaction over HK$8,000, the rough equivalent of US$1,000.
Tough money-laundering laws
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority's (HKMA's) voluminous guidelines put the onus on banks and other financial institutions and their professional employees to ensure that companies follow legal guidelines on deposits.
As required by the guidelines, banks make it a common practice to subject all employees dealing with the transfer of funds to regular, detailed briefings on money-laundering statutes and the penalties involved.
The need to guard against money laundering received new impetus in 2004 when the Hong Kong Monetary Authority urged banks to be especially alert to the possibility of money laundering as the territory prepared to become an outlet for yuan-denominated deposits.
In June of that year, the HKMA issued a supplement to the territory's anti-money laundering guidelines, setting out ‘Know-Your-Customer' principles, taking account of the requirements of a paper on ‘Customer Due Diligence for Banks' issued by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision.
However, any possibility that the French authorities could interview the prime minister of a sovereign state concerning bribery allegations is extremely slim - although the question could complicate any of Najib's future plans to vacation in Europe.
It is unknown if French authorities have asked Hong Kong authorities for help into looking into Terasasi's activities. Cecily Chik, a senior press information officer with the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) in Hong Kong told Asia Sentinel only that the agency does not comment on operational matters.
In addition to being a close Najib associate, Abdul Razak Baginda is the former head of a Malaysian think-tank who was at the centre of a 2006 investigation into the notorious death of Mongolian translator and party girl Altantuya Shaariibuu.
It was previously revealed on the floor of the Dewan Rakyat, Malaysia's parliament, that a company called Perimekar Sdn Bhd received another 114 million euro (RM457 million) as a commission on the sale of the vessels, from an offshoot of Thales and DCNS called Armaris.
Perimekar at the time was wholly owned by another company, KS Ombak Laut Sdn Bhd, which in turn was also controlled by Razak Baginda and his wife, Mazalinda. Perimekar is now 20 percent each owned by the military retirement system LTAT and Boustead Holdings.
Probe on three contracts
The French news agency Agence France Press recently reported that the probe by the French investigating magistrates involves three contracts for the submarines which were signed on June 5, 2002.
According to the documents, the contracts had two components: the sale of two submarines built by Thint and the Spanish shipbuilding firm Izar, for 920 million euro (RM3.7 billion); and the delivery of "logistical support" from Perimekar Bhd - the 114 million euro (RM457 million) - to train the first 200 Royal Malaysian Navy personnel although there is no indication that the company had the wherewithal to train them.
The contracts cited by AFP included the 114 million euro (RM457 million) one paid by the Malaysian government to Perimekar. The second, called "C5 contract of engineering business," was concluded in August 2000 between DCNI, a subsidiary of DCN, and Thales International Asia worth some 30 million euro (RM132 million). The third was the "consulting agreement" signed in October 2000 between Thint Asia and Terasasi.
The French investigators are also studying one of the invoices issued by Terasasi in August 2004 for 359,450 euro (RM1.44 million) sent to Thint Asia. For investigators, "it appears that... the amounts paid to Terasasi ultimately benefited Najib, the defence minister, or his adviser Razak Baginda."
The magistrates have documents that show that the money was funneled from Thint Asia to Terasasi - 3 million euro (RM12 million) when Terasasi was still domiciled in Malaysia, and 33 million euro (RM132 million) after it was incorporated in Hong Kong.
There is no indication at this point where the money went. French investigators, however, theorise that it was part of 146 million euro (RM585 million) that may have been funneled to officials of Umno and Najib, who traveled with Abdul Razak Baginda several times to France as defence minister at the time the Malaysians purchased the submarines from DCNS.
On at least one trip in 2004, Altantuya, then Razak Baginda's lover, accompanied him to France as a translator. He later jilted her, impelling her to come to Kuala Lumpur to demand US$500,000 (RM1.5 million) from him. In a handwritten letter found after her death, she wrote that she was attempting to blackmail him, although she didn't say why.
Two of Najib's bodyguards were convicted of shooting her in the head and blowing up her body with plastic explosives in September 2006, possibly to hide the fact that she was pregnant when she was killed.
Because her killing does not appear to be connected to the scandal, French investigators are not looking into the causes of her death or the reasons behind it.
Although Razak Baginda was charged with abetting her murder, he was released without having to put up a defence.
Najib's former bodyguards remain on death row in Malaysia. Their appeal against the death penalty has been delayed, presumably until after national elections that had been expected June this year although elections plans may have been derailed by a massive rally on April 28 calling for election reform.
Money used for bribery was tax deductible
Under the bribery conventions of the 32-member Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, the French defence contractors could be liable for criminal sanctions if it is proven that no real services were delivered by the companies. Under French law, violators are liable for up to 10 years in prison.
Breham said Perimekar had received the commission for "supporting the contract," which he said was a euphemism for unexplained costs, and also for "housing the crew" of the submarines in France.
In France, before 2002, any money used to bribe foreign officials was tax deductible. When the former finance director of DCN made a claim for 31 million euro (RM124 million) allegedly used to bribe the Malaysians for the purchase of the Scorpenes, Breham said, the budget minister questioned such a large bribe, although he did eventually authorise the tax break.
Olivier Metzner, a lawyer for Thales, told the French daily Le Parisienthat "we have already demonstrated to investigators that there was no corruption in this case."
However, a confidential memorandum made available to Asia Sentineland Free Malaysia Today states that: "The beneficiaries of these funds are not difficult to imagine: the family clan and Razak Baginda relations. In addition, these funds will find their way to the dominant political party (Umno)."

The rakyat is angry with all politicians, not just BN or the opposition.
We have had 54 years of Umno/BN rule and have things really got any better? The rich appear to get richer, whilst the numbers who make up the poor, are increasing.
The old class system was royalty versus the serfs. Then it was the colonialists against the Malayans. Now it looks like it is the Umnoputras versus the rest.
The Umnoputras are the new elite. Even royalty depends on the largesse of those who lead Umno/BN to get funding from the civil list.
When it suits them, BN will use emotional blackmail on the Malays to say that their heartland and their birthright is being threatened.
The British left us with a country that had enormous potential. Malaya had an abundance of wealth, from tin to timber, minerals to mining.
Singapore was only a trading port for all of Malaya's riches. Look at Singapore now.
Malaya was rich in natural resources and it was these riches that helped fund the British war effort in the First World War. However, one untapped resource then as it is now, are its people - the Malaysians - Orang Asli, Malays, Chinese, Indians, the East Malaysians, Eurasians and all the rest.
Over the years, all these people contributed towards the success that we now see in the country. It is not BN or Umno or the Opposition who are responsible. It is the hard work and fortitude of those Malaysians who love their country.
Prime minister Najib Abdul Razak (right) was not elected to the post. He leads the country by default. He has shown very little ability to govern or to engage with the rakyat.
He only pays lip service to his speech to delegates of the 65th United Nations General Assembly; he said that extremists should not be allowed. At home, Malay extremists were permitted to express their insensitive racist and religious views without being punished.
Tighten belts
His administration tells us to tighten our belts but it appears he does not have to heed his own advice. He freely uses taxpayers' money on his personal comfort. How does he have the gall to spend RM63 million on renovations on Seri Perdana when some people do not have a decent roof over their heads?
Taxpayers' money is also used to fund his expenses abroad. One trip to the US was combined with his daughter's graduation ceremony. Another trip to Kazakhstan with a large entourage of officials coincided with his daughter's engagement ceremony. Quite a few regarded it as morally wrong.
Perhaps Najib is not at all bothered about emptying the public purse. In comparison, if we owed a government department one ringgit, we would be hounded like criminals.
Najib and his administration are devoid of morality. He need not go on about the opposition and their spending when people who have been found practising money politics to head government institutions.
How can he claim that other Muslim nations should follow Malaysia's lead, because Malaysia's system of governance is based on moderate Islam and has worked?
What about corruption, the abuse of power, the use of racial or religious sentiments to divide the public and the lack of credibility of the country's institutions?
Why can Najib not make decisions which will lead to monumental improvements in democracy in Malaysia?
Instead he wants to build monuments to his vanity like the proposed 100-storey Warisan Merdeka. These are mere phallic symbols for Umno/BN.
Intolerance increasing
In Najib's Malaysia, levels of aggression and intolerance by some Malays towards non-Malays or non-Muslims have increased. Malays who make racial and religious slurs go unchecked, despite Najib's promises to eradicate extremism.
Bersih, which called for free and fair elections, has been outlawed by Najib. Is he not interested in clean elections? Does he not wish to prove that Umno has won every election by fair means? Why is he afraid of free and fair elections?
Why is he afraid of allowing international observers to oversee the elections? Surely, international observers would scotch all of the opposition's claims that Umno tampers with the election results.
On the other hand, the recent deportation of French lawyer, William Bourdon, can only mean one thing. There is something to hide.
If all is above board the parties involved would surely want to clear their name. Or even prove that the Scorpene scandal has nothing to do with them.
The shame is that other Umno/BN members are aware of the truth and that Najib is an incapable leader. However, these people are not willing to help the country because they only want to save themselves. Perhaps, they are themselves implicated or maybe they fear for their own safety.
But we, the rakyat, are telling Najib that it is time he went.
If he is still unconvinced that he is not the man for the job (of leading the country), he should have known by now, that being PM is a poisoned chalice.

Najib People First PM will he keep promise?
Soon after Teoh's death, Najib had promised the family that he would direct that a royal commission be formed if the family finds the inquest ruling unsatisfactory.
Now that the Teoh family had expressed that they found the inquest ruling unsatisfactory, will Najib keep his promise to order a Royal Commission and be a People First Performance now PM?
How about becoming a fortune teller today. Foretell that Najib will hee and haw and forget his promise or at the most (unlikely) order a Royal Commision with extreemly limited ToR (Term of Reference) only to investigate MACC questioning procedures as he had earlier intimidated.

(Malaysia Today) - Tan Kay Hock is the low-profile controlling shareholder of Johan Holdings Berhad, a public-listed investment holding company. He is also the golf buddy of Najib Tun Razak and this relationship has made him hundreds of millions. Kay Hock recently caused ripples in China when he asked the Chinese for RM500 million and told them that RM200 million is for Najib’s family.
How playing golf with the Prime Minister can earn you billions
For about ten years and over three Prime Ministers, the current Prime Minister included, the contract for the double-tracking electric train from Gemas to Johor Bahru has been ding-donging. Despite what was agreed between the leaders of China and the three Prime Ministers, which was later confirmed by the issuance of a Letter of Intent to China Railways Engineering Corporation (CREC), the government is again backtracking.
Najib now wants to award the contract to China Harbour Engineering Co. Ltd. (CHEC) instead, the company that is building the Second Penang Bridge -- which shot up from RM1 billion to RM4.5 billion and now to RM22 billion (read more on the matter below).
The man behind this is Tan Kay Hock, Najib’s golf buddy. He is brokering the deal on behalf of CHEC.
The Chinese say that Tan Kay Hock is demanding RM500 million from CHEC and he told them that RM200 million is for Najib's family. And this is making the Chinese very unhappy because, in China, both the givers as well the receivers of bribes will be sentenced to death with a bullet in the head plus the cost of the bullet is charged to the family of the deceased.
When the Chinese government offered the Malaysian government a loan to construct the Gemas to JB railway they indicated that CREC should be the contractor. CREC is one of the biggest specialist contractors for electric trains while CHEC has not constructed even one kilometer of electric railway (more details below).
A Letter of Intent had already been awarded to CREC. Now the government wants to cancel this Letter of Intent and issue a new Letter of Intent to CHEC. But for the new Letter of Intent to be issued to CHEC they must fork out RM500 million, which Kay Hock claims RM200 million will be paid to the Prime Minister of Malaysia’s family.
This is not only a violation of the terms of the loan from China but CREC is the company with the experience in constructing electric railways, not CHEC, the company already involved in the construction of the Second Penang Bridge. Added to the withdrawal or cancellation of the Letter of Intent to CREC and a new one issued to CHEC, with a RM500 million ‘price tag’ attached, it puts the Chinese government in a dicey spot when the risk would be a bullet in the head for those who approve the payment.
The Chinese are wondering whether it is worth the risk to pay Kay Hock the RM500 million he is demanding. If the Letter of Intent to CREC can be withdrawn after issuing it, what guarantee is there that the new Letter of Intent to CHEC will also not be withdrawn after they pay the RM500 million?
The Chinese are very aware that Vincent Tan also received a Letter of Approval for his gaming licence, signed by the Deputy Minister of Finance. However, after he paid RM170 million ‘under the table’, Najib denied in Parliament that Vincent Tan had been given a gaming licence and subsequently the Letter of Approval was withdrawn.
KTM is being used as Najib’s new cash cow. The EMU coach was a deal involving Rosmah Mansor (Najib’s wife), Mumtaz Jaafar (Saiful Bukhari Azlan’s ‘godmother’) and Cindy (Desmond Lim's wife). Desmond, in fact, handled the deal where KTM coughed out RM1.4 Billion for coaches that cannot function. According to KTM, the coaches are not even worth RM300 million.
The saga gets more interesting with Najib and Rosmah holidaying in Monaco as guests of Jho Low -- who told everyone that the yacht belongs to the Prince of Qatar. It was later revealed that Jho Low rented the yacht for Euro 90,000 per day to allow Najib and Rosmah to rub shoulders with Hollywood Starlets.
That brings us to a very crucial question. Where did Jho Low get that kind of money? Well, you see, after Malaysia Today exposed Deepak Jaikishan -- Rosmah’s carpetman cum bagman cum toyboy -- she was forced to dump him. So now Jho Low is Rosmah’s new Mister Fixit and Collector of Commissions.
Let us see how the CHEC-Tan Kay Hock saga is played out. Now that the Chinese government knows that we know about the RM500 million deal would they dare still proceed with it? And does Tun Dr Mahathir Mahathir know that Najib has hijacked his pet electric train project?

Najib splurge while Malaysians tighten belt
Najib and his administration sneakily announced price increases shortly after the last Parliament session ended to avoid debate plus ordered MSM (main stream mass media - newspapers, TV and radio) to give nice sounding names to the price hike such as price adjustments etc. Due to the price increases of these essential commodities, Malaysians will have to tighten their belt.
In the meantime, Najib's PMD (Prime Minister Department) was allocated an obsene RM12 billion budget for 2010 which far exceeds the RM8.2 billion allocated for PMD for the entire 5 years of the Eighth Malaysian Plan (2001 - 2005).
Najib has cunningly only publicized the RM3.9 billion for its "operations" in 2010 and no mention had been made of the other RM8.2 billion for "development".
So Najib's 1Malaysia People First Performance Now is all empty talk. People Suffer First should be the by-line of his hypocritical 1Malaysia slogan. "You tighten your belt and suffer first while we merrily spend billions of ringgit" is what Najib should be shouting instead.
