BERSIH 3.0: Broadband jammer cut mobile phone communications

During BERSIH 3.0 while I was waiting for the rally to start at Jalan Sultan, I noticed that there was no line on my handphone and therefore could not communicate with others. Now I know why. The sneaky authorities had deployed broadband/handphone/mobile jammer on the street.

Here is one spotted at Jalan Leboh Ampang in front of HSBC:

Bersih 3.0: broadband handphone jammer in front of HSBC

It seems such jammers are banned in many countries and only allowed for military or prisoners situations but deployed in Malaysia to disrupt communications during BERSIH 3.0
