Can UMNO reform itself? I think no

I like a comment made by Walla in Sakmongkol's "The Future of UMNO-2

A: 'Interesting essay, no?'

B: 'Generic value, too. And as interesting as wenger's regression analysis!

But i have a problem with it, A.'

A: 'And that be?'

B: 'It's like Umno now trying to do what Pakatan had already done.

Look back. When Pakatan first started, it was just a motley lot cutting their teeth on the grindstone of modus vivendi. If anything, that's political coopetition. But Pakatan worked whereas BN didn't during GE12 because Umno and its cohorts chose not to see the seismic change in the fundamental sentiment of the voters which caused them to vote across racial and religious lines. Now Pakatan has moved ahead with things that reinforce even more the original sentiment, for example, malays running DAP branches, that reflect a refreshingly plural approach to politics.

Meanwhile BN has created its own contradictions. It is race-based but it wants to create a 1malaysia. Its individuals can be friendly but its governmental policies have damned entire communities. And it can talk about people first while scheming to take their rights at all costs using all the institutions of state under its control.'

A: 'Hey, i take exception to the last statement. Umno is not like that.'

B: 'Really? Then please explain to me why it is not alright for the rakyat to know as a matter of their basic right that the cabinet already knew about PKFZ's cost escalations. Instead of admitting guilt and cover-up, what you have is a feeble attempt at deflection. Please, the rakyat know all about double-standards, namely when caught, pin fault on the messengers. That sort of low IQ thing is almost blase these days.'

A: 'Do you see it getting worse, B?'

B: 'Of course. Especially when incumbents can define what is national security to their own political whims. Especially when there are at least five sets of standards in everything - take your time to think out the levels. Especially when a government can gerrymander constituencies and move entire army camps for persuaded postal voting.'

A: 'But BN didn't win in all postal votings before, B.'

B: 'Maybe it wants to use them selectively for strategic objectives. It's like Churchill hiding the fact that the british had cracked the german enigma code by deliberating not sounding the alarm to one of his cities which was targeted for luftwaffe bombing.'

Hassan Ali is a double headed snake

Well you know, this Hassan Ali who is supposed to be a PAS Commissioner and in Pakatan Rakyat but behave more like an UMNO warlord, is becoming more and more like a double-headed snake. You know, the kind that says one thing to one party and another thing to another.

Hassan Ali criticised Selcat for behaving like a bully towards District Officers and posed as defending District Officers against Selcat.

However, listen to Teng Chang Kim: "Unknown to them, Hassan Ali had been pushing for all senior civil servants — including DO’s, heads of local authorities, the state secretary and state legal advisor — to be replaced during PR state meetings."

Wish he quickly go join the corrupt UMNO

PKFZ Cabinet Paper - What the Cabinet hid from the Malaysian public

RPK posted this - What the Cabinet hid from the Malaysian public over at his blog Malaysia Today and if that is not accessible, go to Malaysia Today's mirror site.

Mirror site for Malaysia Today

Raja Petra Kamaruddin's blog Malaysia Today which URL is mt.m2day.org/2008/ was attacked and became unavailable after RPK posted an expose of PKFZ cabinet documents.

Thankfully, Malaysia Today is accessible again, but just in case, here is Malaysia Today's mirror site which have the URL www.freeanonymizer.co.uk/anonurl.php?r=on&u=http://mt.m2day.org//2008/.

Please copy and save the link in a safe place in case the powers give problems again. I think I will put the links in my sidebar.

Cakap cakap - bagaimana sekarang

Talk talk, what now? (by HUSSEIN ABDUL HAMID

Kita harus terus terang terhadap sesuatu perkara. Kenapa kita hendak UMNO dibuang?

Kamu adakah orang-orang untuk menenuhi jawatan-jawatan it?

Teoh Beng Hock sedang menjadi 'blip on the horizon'. Kugan hampir dilupakan.

Tolong beritahulah saya.

semi value eats crow

UALA LUMPUR, Sept 17 — Just a week after his grandstanding against Umno interference in his party affairs, MIC president Datuk Seri S Samy Vellu was forced today to announce that he will personally apologise to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad over the “slipper garland” insult.

Sorry press publish too fast. Will write about what I wanted to post later. If you cannot wait, surf over to Malaysian Insider to read what prompted me to want to write this post.

Spam alert - Mid Valley Megamall experience

To: Subject: Fw: : Mid Valley Megamall Dangerous Exprience

Reminder…

LET THIS TRUE STORY SERVE AS A WARNING

To the men : warn your loved ones!
To the women : remember this!

About a month ago there was a woman standing by the Mega Mall entrance (Mid-Valley Megamall location map) passing out flyers to all the women going in. The woman had written the
flyer herself to tell about an experience she had, so that she might warn
other women.

The previous day, this woman had finished shopping, went out to her car
and discovered that she had a flat. She got the jack out of the trunk and
began to change the flat. A nice man dressed in business suit and carrying
a briefcase walked up to her and said,

' I notice you ' re changing a flat tire. Would you like me to take care
of it for you? '

The woman was grateful for his offer and accepted his help. They chatted
amiably while the man changed the flat, and then put the flat tire and the
jack in the trunk, shut it and dusted his hands off.

The woman thanked him profusely, and as she was about to get in her car,
the man told her that he left his car around on the other side of the
mall, and asked if she would mind giving him a lift to his car. She was a
little surprised and asked him why his car was on the other side. He
explained that he had met an old friend in the mall whom he hadn ' t seen
for some time and they had a bite to eat and visited for a while; he got
turned around in the mall and left through the wrong exit, and now he was
running late and his car was clear around on the other side of the mall.

The woman hated to tell him ' no ' because he had just rescued her from
having to change her flat tire all by herself, but she felt uneasy. Then
she remembered seeing the man put his briefcase in her trunk before
shutting it and before he asked her for the ride to his car.

She told him that she ' d be happy to drive him to his car, but she just
remembered one last thing she needed to buy. She said she would only be a
few minutes; he could sit down in her car and wait for her; she would be
as quick as she could be. She hurried into the mall, and told a security
guard
what had happened; the guard came out to her car with her, but the
man had left.

They opened the trunk, took out his locked briefcase and took it down to
the police station. The police opened it (ostensibly to look for ID so
they could return it to the man). What they found was rope, duct tape and
knives.

When the police checked her ' flat ' tire, there was nothing wrong with
it; the air had simply been let out. It was obvious what the man ' s
motive was, and obvious that he had carefully thought it out in advance.

The woman was blessed to have escaped harm. How much worse it would have
been had she waited in the car while the man fixed the tire, or if she had
a baby strapped into a car seat. Or if she ' d gone against her judgment
and given him a lift. I ' d like you to forward this to all the women you
know..

It may save a life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle. I
was going to send this to the ladies only; but guys, if you love your
mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc., you may want to pass it on to
them as well.

Send this to any woman you know that may need to be reminded that the
world we live in has a lot of crazies in it....better safe than sorry.

PLEASE BE SAFE AND NOT SORRY!

JUST A WARNING TO ALWAYS BE ALERT AND USE YOUR HEAD!!!

Pass this along to every woman you meet. Never let your guard down.

There will be a gathering at 10am Monday 14 September in front of Malaysiakini office to protest against MCMC’s continued harassment of the online paper for featuring the video of the shameful cow head incident on August 28 plus the video of the press conference of the idiotic Kerismuddin (Hishammuddin Hussein) defending the indefensible.

Biased PDRM arrest candlelight vigilers

Here is clear proof of the biased PDRM (Polis Diraja Malaysia) who stood by and watched while Section 23 Shah Alam residents and provocateur threaten violence and murder plus spat on a bloodied cow head to humiliate Hindus but arrested peaceful protesters carrying flowers and yellow candles:

Idiotic speech by Hishammuddin Hussein: bloody cow head incident

Listen to this idiot Home Minister (kerismuddin or Hishammudin) who despite being a lawyer do not know the law and who would condone incitement and threat of violence an bloodshed. I wonder what his grandfather Onn Jaafar would say at such idiotic speech.

Mohd Radzhi Salleh betrayed PKR

Have a good look at this photo of Mohd. Radzhi Salleh, Lunas state assemblyman and former PKR member but now declared himself an independent while supporting the Federal Government of Najib:

Note that he never gave any substantive reasons for leaving PKR, only giving a vague statement he is not happy with the PRK leadership without giving actual reasons or justifications.

Perhaps it is a blessing in disguise. Pakatan Rakyat had problems getting quality candidates to stand for election last March and are now paying for it. Read about those difficulties by Nat, a PKR member who should be in the know at Radzhi: The BN bloodthirsty crossover onslaught continues.

However, all these betrayal by such unsuitable candidates is bringing a cleansing to Pakatan Rakyat, particularly PKR and I am sure when the next General Election comes, Pakatan Rakyat will be cleansed of all weak and unsuitable candidates.

BN caught red-handed: Election Commission closed down Welfare Ministry event

Are we finally seeing some semblance of independence and fair play from the Malaysian Election Commission. All along, the Malaysian Election Commission had been seen as closing both eyes to wrongdoings by the UMNO/BN breaching the election rules.

PKR had complained that BN had abused government machineries for election purposes at the Barisan Nasional ceramah at Sama Gagah village where Deputy Information, Communications and Culture Minister Heang Siak Kee was giving a speech plus there was a Welfare Department bus with the department logo was parked plus BN flags, buntings and other materials. There was even the words "Please vote BN" written in Chinese characters on the stage. Sim Tze Tzin, Pantai Jerajak state representative also claimed that Heang Siak Kee had told participants that those above 60 years of age can claim RM200 from the organizers.

This time a surprise enforcement team led by Election Commission officer Sulaiman Abdullah raided the function and ordered it closed. Minister Heang Siak Kee shamefacedly had to stop her speech half-way and sneak away with shame.

Let us hope that this is the start of a new beginning for the previously highly tainted Election Commission. There is still one outstanding issue sticking up like a sore thumb - Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin use of an Armed Force helicopter on UMNO business. That is corruption and abuse of power.

Khir Toyo denies allegation; MACC Selangor Deputy Director on leave

by Chen Shaua Fui, Merdeka Review

The Deputy Director of the Selangor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission or MACC (Suruhanjaya Pencegah Rasuah atau SPRM), Hishamuddin Hashim whose name was mentioned in the mystery letter that was broadcasted yesterday, have taken emergency leave today.

Reporters from Merdeka Review tried to interview him regarding the allegation in a "mystery letter" that was exposed in "Malaysia Today", in his office. However, the office staff informed them that Hishamuddin has take leave and will not be coming in to office today.

The reporters thus failed to get his response regarding the allegation that was thrown at him as was broadcasted in that letter.

Meanwhile, former Selangor Chief Minister, Khir Toyo who was implicated in a "plot to bring down the Pakatan Rakyat Selangor government" in the "mystery letter" yesterday, denied all the allegations in his blog.

Khir Toyo who is currently in Mecca, claimed that all the allegations in the "mystery letter" are defamation and slander, and declared that he will make a police report when he return to Malaysia.

MUHYIDDIN DESPERATELY WANTS TO GO TO HEAVEN

I wish I have the capability of writing stuff with this post title as the real author of MUHYIDDIN DESPERATELY WANTS TO GO TO HEAVEN is none other than RPK (Raja Petra Kamaruddin) of Malaysia Today. He seem to have phenomenal memory of the past plus very credible sources of information that we lesser mortals do not have. You should go to MUHYIDDIN DESPERATELY WANTS TO GO TO HEAVEN to read what RPK has to reveal about our Deputy Prime Minister.

Muhyiddin Yassin: please read Citizen Nades report

Muhyiddin Yassin is both Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister, a very crucial post that can impact seriously on the future of our young ones as well as the future of Malaysia. Right now the Malaysian education system is very unhealthy with incompetent teachers. Muhyiddin so far had failed to impress as the second highest leader of our country with his series of nonsensical statements. Let us hope he reads about what R. Nadeswarn (Citizen Nades) wrote in the Sun recently: Teaching children to fail

Someone sent Nadeswaran a brown envelope containing a note with the header: Jabatan Pelajaran Negeri Selangor: Program Peningkatan Prestasi UPSR (Selangor Education Department: UPSR Performance Enhancement Programme). It was a mathematics test preparatory paper for Standard Six pupils who would be sitting for the exam next month. Apparently, of the 40 questions, there were 33 grammatical mistakes, that is, a horrible 75%.

Muhyiddin Yassin, please surf over to the Sun and read for yourself the depth to which our Malaysian education system has plunged with half past six teachers who cannot even write a decent sentence without grammatical error

BN's Permatang Pasir candidate Rohaizat Othman offence personal

The Permatang Pasir Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Rohaizat Othman, a lawyer, was struck off the Malaysian Bar for a personal offence, according to Bar Council president Ragunath Kesavan which was reported at The Edge (Rohaizat's offence a personal misconduct, Ragunath says). The offence is related to stakeholders' money from Koperasi Pekebun Getah for which Ragunath says there was no account.

Ragunath: "The offence was for personal liability and does not involve any other persons as Rohaizat was named by the complainant, and not his partner. Rohaizat was disbarred on March 7 last year and he appealed against the Bar Council decision to the High Court, which also dismissed his appeal on Aug 12 this year. When the board looked into this matter and the order was made, there was no reimbursement to the stakeholders involving the sum of RM140,000. Even if you pay, the offence has been committed and it is a serious offence as this involves dealing with client's money. If you are an innocent party, you would not be found guilty by the disciplinary committee and the charge leveled under Section 103D is tantamount to criminal misconduct."

Voters in Permatang Pasir when they go to the polling station to cast their votes in this "buy election" should take this into consideration and hopefully will cast their votes for the PAS/Pakatan Rakyat candidate Mohd Salleh Man.

Protest song - it isn't nice

The song "It isn't nice" was one of the songs sung in the 1960s by civil rights marchers in the US, without whom Obama would not be able to even sit with the whites in a bus, let alone reside in the White House. The words and music was composed by Malvina Reynolds and was copyrighted in 1964 by Schroder Music Company, and was renewed in 1993. The Japanese version is banned in Japan. Here is part of the lyrics (for the full lyrics, refer to Malvina Reynolds: Song Lyrics and Poems:

It isnt nice to block the doorway
It isnt nice to go to jail
There are nicer ways to do it
But the nice ways have all failed
It isnt nice; it isnt nice
Youve told us once, youve told us twice
But if thats freedoms price
We dont mind ...

Beginning Anti-ISA rally Masjid Jamek

Here is a video recording the beginning of the 1 August Anti-ISA rally starting from Masjid Jamek:

Go to Anti-ISA Rally 1st August for more photos and report.

Anti-ISA Rally August 1

The Anti-ISA (Internal Security Act) Rally is scheduled to begin at 2pm. From experience at the 9-11 BERSIH Rally where the Pasar Seni and Masjid Jamek LRT stations were locked down and trains forced to bypass the stations, today I chose to take the LRT to Pasar Seni early and reached there around 11am. As I headed towards the escalator, I already spotted 2 police armed with pistols.

There was a Police lockup truck parked next to Pasar Seni which was already filled with arrestees. Sigh! They have already started arresting at such an early stage. Also spotted were 2 police with Alsatian dogs patrolling the car park.

Police with Alsatian dogs

Police were milling around and I spotted a few traffic police (white uniform) mixing with the regular police (dark blue uniform). Let's hope the rally will be allowed to proceed with police directing traffic rather than to interfere with the rally:

Traffic police milling around Pasar Seni together with regular police

From Pasar Seni, I walked over to Masjid Jamek. The time was 11.45am and already there was a crowd. A helicopter was buzzing overhead:

helicopter buzzing overhead at Masjid Jamek

Not much seemed to be happening here. I spotted a Malaysiakini reporter cameraman chatting with 2 foreigners, explaining what all the fuss was about. :

Parked nearby next to Masjid Jamek was another police lockup truck (Black Maria):

The police seemed very trigger-happy apparently arresting at will. Here are some photos of those arrested, among which was 2 women with black tudung and veil:
